Silent Voices #2 is a video installation comprising two separate screens. Both screens hang next to each other. One screen shows a musician playing the Israeli national anthem on her violin, and the other shows a musician playing the Hatikva on a traditional Oriental instrument, the oud. The use of musical instruments refers to their cultural roots and is a metaphor for the cultural war being waged within Israeli society between the dominant Ashkenazi culture and the Mizrahi population. The video (20 minutes) is shown in a loop.
