‘The Life Beneath Our Feet’ is an interactive VR journey into the life of a 150-year-old oak. You explore how the tree interacts with its environment, above and below ground. Inspired by Alexander von Humboldt’s call to immerse ourselves in nature, this poetic, science-based experience reveals how trees, fungi, and soil life are intertwined in a web of relationships that sustain the forest.
Produced by Quetzalcoatl (B) and co-produced by Valck Productions (NL). Funded by Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), Dutch Film Fund, the tax shelter of the Belgian federal government, and Bulskampveld.
